Student Sponsorship is essential to providing quality education to Fimpulu's most vulnerable population.
For just $25 a month, you can change the life of a child. Through this crucial funding, we provide beautiful facilities, learning materials, lunch each day and well-trained teachers for our students.
What does Student Sponsorship look like?
Once you’ve been matched with a student, you’ll learn their name and a bit about their family life. You’ll receive hand written letters via email at the end of the school term.
Each sponsor chooses what level of involvement they’d like to have with a student. Some sponsors are diligent to correspond with their student. Others simply send their regular donation. Truly, all levels of sponsorship are welcomed. For each child, just knowing there is a person out there that is interested in their wellbeing is a huge encouragement.
Can I send gifts to my student?
While generosity is always welcome, it can be difficult to know what items are most helpful to a child in the village. It can be better for us to purchase some items in country as a way of supporting the local economy. Or a child receiving something extravagant can create false expectation in other children. To help bridge the gap between sponsor’s generosity and a child’s need, we started the Christmas Bucket Campaign each December. Practical, needed and fun gifts are purchased locally and given in a bucket to the family of the student. Even the buckets fill an actual need of the family. For just $35, the bucket is purchased, filled and delivered before Christmas. You’ll receive a picture of your sponsored child with their bucket.
Can I sponsor more than one child?
Yes, absolutely! In some cases, we have families with several children attending school together. It’s really special to know they are sponsored together. One the form below, indicate how many students you’d like to sponsor and we’ll contact you.
How long does Sponsorship last?
Ideally, you’d sponsor your child until they graduate from our program after Grade 9. This allows time for you to know them and see them grow and mature. Of course we know that circumstances change. At a minimum, if possible we’d ask you to commit for an entire school year.
